Research & Development


 

Comlab's research and development, consulting, and design services cover wide a range of applications, including:

Comlab has developed several unique products for various customers. The design of a complete Analog Telecommunications Training System for Lab-Volt Ltd. stands out as a major project accomplishment of the Comlab team. Other significant achievements for Lab-Volt include: a Digital Telecommunications Training System; a 10-GHz Microwave System; an Antenna Training System; and an ultra-high resolution, short-range pulse Doppler Radar System. These systems, exported to over 20 countries, have earned numerous awards and recognitions.

 

 

 

Wire Bonding


 

Comlab offers small quantity production and prototyping services on its K&S 4124 Ball Bonder.

 

Comlab's wire bonder allows precise bonding of gold wires directly to IC and component dies and our personnel has developed solid expertise in this area.

 

 

 

 

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design


 

Comlab provides PCB layout services with a focus on manufacturability, testing and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

 

Our staff has over 20 years of experience in designing PCBs, and takes pride in meeting your requirements and providing first quality PCB layout files that are required by PCB manufacturers.

 

We have a high level of expertise in RF boards, but can handle any type of PCB design.

 

Capabilities

  • Single-sided, double-sided and multi-layer boards
  • Through-hole, surface mount, mixed
  • Analog and digital signals
  • Split ground planes, differential pairs, high speed rules
  • Controlled impedance, balanced traces, signal integrity, clock and circuit shielding, crosstalk minimization

 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)


 

Sophisticated RF measuring equipment and facilities allow Comlab to satisfy many client EMC/EMI requirements. Our EMC laboratory is ideal for testing of prototypes, and can aid in solving EMI problems with electronic equipment. If required, we can also arrange to do the testing at your facilities or location.
